What is a DTF transfer?
DTF stands for direct-to-film. Your design is printed onto a special transfer film and then applied to the garment using a heat press. It produces a full-colour, durable print that works on most fabric types and colours.
What types of designs work well with DTF?
DTF handles full-colour logos, gradients, detailed illustrations and photographic artwork well. It is a good choice when embroidery or vinyl would not reproduce the design accurately.
Can DTF transfers be used on dark-coloured garments?
Yes. DTF transfers work on dark fabrics as well as light ones, which makes them more versatile than some other print methods.
What garments can you apply DTF transfers to?
Most fabric garments including T-shirts, polo shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, hi-vis, jackets, softshells, aprons and tote bags. If you need something not listed, ask.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
In many cases, no. DTF is well suited to small and single-item orders as well as larger runs. Send your details and we'll advise.
How durable are DTF transfers?
DTF transfers bond firmly to the fabric and hold up well with regular washing when cared for correctly. We can advise on wash care when your order is complete.
What artwork file do I need?
For best results, send a high-quality PNG with a transparent background, or a PDF or vector file. Send whatever you have and we'll advise on whether it will work.
How long does a DTF transfer order take?
Turnaround depends on the quantity and garment type. Let us know your deadline when you enquire and we'll confirm what's possible.
Do you supply DTF transfer sheets?
No. We do not supply printed DTF transfer sheets or gang sheets. We use DTF transfers as part of our garment decoration service. This means we supply or source the garments, apply the design and provide finished branded clothing.
